The Homestead

Learn practical homestead skills like gardening, animal care, cooking, and stewardship of the land

The Deep Dive

A Journey Through The Homestead

Step into the rewarding world of homestead living, where simple skills and daily rhythms teach valuable lessons about work, responsibility, and caring for the land. In this engaging 20-lesson unit study, students will explore the practical skills that have helped families live closely connected to the land for generations.

Along the way, they’ll learn how gardens grow, how animals are cared for, and how everyday tasks—from cooking to household chores—play an important role in a thriving homestead. Students will discover how planting, harvesting, and tending animals require patience, dedication, and thoughtful stewardship.

Each lesson encourages curiosity and confidence as students explore the rhythms of homestead life and the practical skills that help families provide for their needs. Through engaging reading and hands-on activities, children will gain a deeper understanding of how these simple practices connect us to the natural world around us.

Rooted in a Christian worldview, this study also celebrates God’s provision and creativity, helping students recognize His care and design in the everyday blessings of work, nature, and home.

Whether your child enjoys gardening, caring for animals, cooking, or simply learning practical life skills, this unit invites them to discover the wisdom and joy found in homestead living.
